Sheik Habdu

After spending the night traveling north along the Nile via the Orient Express, we piled into jeeps in Giza and spent six hours driving from Cairo into the wilderness of Sinai.  Then we got out and started following an old Bedouin Sheik through the desert.  We didn’t know who he was, where we were going, or how long it would take.  The only thing he said that I understood was “Yalla!”  We scrambled up rocks at a surprisingly quick pace and made it to the ruins of an Egyptian temple to the goddess Hathor in time to watch the sunset.
I only say all this to let you know how cool I am.  Aren’t I awesome?
